Welcome to the Rural Research and Development Training Center (RRDTC) located in Vientiane, Lao PDR (Laos).
RRDTC is a licensed, independent, non political Lao Not for Profit Association (NPA) which is locally managed.
Since April, 2004, RRDTC (Licence No: 051/04/NSC) has been operating under the umbrella of the Lao Union of Science and Engineering Associations (LUSEA).
Our focus is on rural community development and capacity building of the Lao population from “rice roots” villagers to senior officials to help achieve the Lao National millennium goals:
- to eradicate poverty by 2010
- to promote gender equality and empowerment of women,
- to reduce child mortality and improve maternal health
- to ensure environmental sustainability
We provide participatory curriculum design, training, research and resources for community development in Lao PDR. Since February 2004, until December, 2006, RRDTC has provided training for 2,793 participants, 43% of whom were women, we have worked in 15 of the 18 Provinces of Laos, providing training for more than 10 different ethnic groups.
The Training Center provides a comfortable venue for training and other activities. We also train outside of Vientiane, in any province in Lao PDR.
